Vedic Meditation 🙏

Vedic Meditation:

Meditation is putting your mind in a calm and relaxed state. You can simply define as being in stillness by sitting in a comfortable posture, closing your eyes in a quite environment with least distraction. Meditation is usually practised where you slowly tries to calm your mind by trying to focus on your breathing movements - inhale and exhale. Your thoughts keep flowing which you cannot stop instantly. Instead of being aware of your thoughts and emotions, you try focussing on your breathe rythm. Though it sounds simple, it needs a little practise everyday to train your mind to focus. Once you are habituated, it becomes easier to practice meditation for a couple of minutes everyday.

Vedic Meditation is also no different. It is the same usual way of meditation sitting in a comfortable position, like the lotus position (Yoga pose) or just sitting on the ground in a comfortable posture and concentrating with closed eyes. Here, you try to experience in your mind the sound and vibration of certain syllable like "Om" or "Aum" or "Hum" silently. These words or syllable hold high relevance in Vedic science. Sometimes, you can use a Mantra which may help you to relax. This is also known as the transcendental meditation which is highly effective in putting your mind in a calm and resting state.

Meditation has immense mental and health benefits. It helps you to release tension, anxiety and stress. Practising meditation lowers your blood pressure and reduces chronic inflammation in the body which is the root cause for many chronic conditions like diabetes, heart conditions, Alzhiemers disease, auto-immune diseases and even cancers. It also helps you gain more clarity of your thought process and experience your inner peace.
